"computer-assisted improvement in the spirit for a better life."
11. "Do you continue to "love" family no matter what? Even after
they've "screwed" you a coupla times? Even after they've hurt you with
their strong cruel feelings towards you? All of this has to do with MONEY.
My sister wants it at ALL COSTS -- risking/testing/forsaking mother-daughter...
risking/testing/forsaking sister-sister relationships. I'm at the point
where I'd like to tell her: "Here, take it. God bless you and keep you.
If it means more to you than us, then don't call me anymore. Sisters don't
treat sisters like this."
editor: "Brothers and sisters are natural competitors within the
family, but they are natural allies outside the family. Try and find a
project with your sister involving anything outside the family. You two
will make a great team."
10. "Diana and Mother Teresa exemplified what the bottom line is
in terms of what is important - love and service. That's what it all boils
down to 'cause no one cares in the end what one accumulates for one's self,
only what one has contributed. David Viscott once said: "The purpose in
life is to find your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away."
editor:" We are here but once in body, but forever in spirit."
9. editor: "Again. Mother Teresa died today in Calcutta, India's poorest city at age 87. Born in Yugoslavia, she ministered to the ill and the poor for over 40 years. But always with a good heart, with a laugh, with a twinkle in her eye. She knew The Spirit of the Planet."
8. editor: "We are all shocked at the death of Diana. She was young, beautiful, vivacious, charming, committed, helpful, and inspiring. And controversial. In the Spirit of the Planet, consider your comments."
7. "What a wonderful site you have created! It's been especially
helpful 'cuz The Ugliest and Nastiest One (Envy) has been rearing its ugly
head again! I am a clean and sober member (for 10-1/2 years) of a few 12-Step
Programs, and just thoroughly loved your page (? -- Is that what they are
called. I'm new to cyberspace). I can't wait to tell a few select friends
about this one! Any advice on this Envy thing? Honest, Open-Minded, and
willing to do some brutal inner-spiritual work on myself."
editor: "Envy is a tough one. It is good to remember that the object
of envy often carries its own price and problems for its possesor. It may
help to give a personal gift to the person you are envious of, and then
feel the warm glow of your own gift."
6. "Greetings. I enjoyed reading your web page, though it seemed
a bit complicated for what seems like a simple idea. Correct me if I'm
wrong, but wouldn't you agree that for every character defect, there is
a character asset? i.e. fear-faith, gluttony-moderation, etc. Thus, to
rid ourselves of the 7 deadly sins, one must choose to do the opposite
of those sins? I do feel that healing begins with the individual. How can
one contribute to the community and planet if he or she has nothing to
give! I'm not sure how your ideas will work other than when an individual
, such as myself, who happens to come across your web page, is reminded
of what seems obviously true. Best wishes."
editor: "Many difficult questions. There seems to be a focus for
most of our actions. We can focus our actions partly on ourselves, partly
on our family, and partly on our planet. This focus can change from day
to day. As it changes, it begins to change us, and those around us. Beyond
that, we cannot predict what will happen."
5. "I would like some information on what character is according
to Jesus's teachings, and how to aquire it in practical ways. Thank you.
By the way, I hope this will help me in a workshop I am having to do. God
Bless !"
editor: "Do unto others as you would have them do to you. Practice
what you preach."
4. "There is no salvation apart from the Name of Jesus, and apart
from the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the One Name through which the sinner
can approach the Great Father God."
editor: "There are many faiths, and many who have faith."
3. "We are very dedicated to holistic problem-solving, and a visit
to your page tells me that you have a similar view. A better world can
only result from better people."
editor: "A better world from better people !"
2. "I read your missive on spiritual progress. It reminded me of
my days at IBM when I used logic to solve computer design problems. This
is perhaps our mission, to build islands of Eden wherever we can."
editor: "Islands of Eden is a beautiful concept."
1. "I would like to try that during the Christmas break coming up.
I will have lots of time to try things like that. I'll look forward to
it."
editor: "Holidays are especially good times to try out new character
traits."
